Today is Saturday. It's been a little while since I've blogged, and there are a few reasons for that.
This week, my life has changed dramatically.
So basically, Sunday (July 6th), I got my results, and found out that I got my IB diploma. I was super happy but slightly concerned, as I had planned on having to retake exams *and therefore would still be around for my friends & family & job & boyfriend* by taking a gap year.
So then my boyfriend and I broke up on the same day. Which has sucked. And still sucks. I'm struggling to come to terms with it. I miss him a lot but I want him to be happy, even if him being happy no longer involves me :(
So I've been seeing friends since, and working, and I'm doing ok. I miss him though :(
And then on Thursday I found out I got into my top choice university, so I'm off to the University of Surrey!
Please let me know what your plans are for September and whether or not your life has changed dramatically recently. Also, I'm hoping to do some univeristy getting ready blog posts/videos on youtube, would that be helpful for some of you?
So I've been on summer holidays for quite a while now (almost a month and a half), and I've spent quite a bit of time on the coast. I live in the South east of England, so the beaches aren't too far away, and I love driving down that way. Can't wait till my boyfriend gets back from Germany so we can go together, although as neither of us can drive yet we'll have to figure out bussing/taking the train :/
I hadn't been to the beach in ages, and I absolutely love it. I find listening to the sea really helps me calm down, and it always looks so gorgeous. Here are some photos I took when I was there the last month.
Had such a lovely day then, but managed to get sunburned on my neck even though it was cloudy!
So music is one of my main passions in life, so I figured I'd dedicate a blog post to some of the songs/artists I've been loving this month, in the hopes you can discover someone new. Please feel free to share your favourite artists/songs from this month in the comments! :)
In no particular order:
Think About It // American Authors. I've been really liking the Oh, What A Life album for a while now, and often listened to it on the way to school in the mornings because it's one of those feel good, happy songs that made me feel a bit happier to be heading to sixth form.
Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High // Arctic Monkeys. This is a chill out song, is really catchy, and is good for downtime. I really enjoy their songs, but haven't delved very deep into listening to many of them yet, which I definitely need to do.
Rather Be // Clean Bandit. One of the songs of the summer. So catchy, fun, and one that I'm always humming along to. Love it.
A Sky Full of Stars // Coldplay. I've loved Coldplay for years, and have had the opportunity to see them live on their Mylo Xyloto tour. This song is my favourite one from their album, and I love it. So catchy!
Come On Eileen // Dexy's Midnight Runners. I adore this song, it's probably my favourite 80s track. It puts such a smile on my face, and I always sing along to it at the top of my lungs whenever I hear it!
I Got You // Duke Dumont ft Jax Jones. Another summer anthem, absolutely loving it, although it's slightly overplayed now :/
Halcyon // Ellie Goulding. Rediscovered this song, I really love it. The whole album is amazing!
Sugar, We're Going Down // Fall Out Boy. I've recently become obsessed with Fall Out Boy, I'd always liked some of their songs, but this one is pretty much on constant replay!
Round and Round // Imagine Dragons. I discovered Imagine Dragons when It's Time came out, but then forgot about them after downloading their Continued Silence EP and their Night Visions album, but have rediscovered the Continued Silence EP, particularly this song.
Hideaway // Kiesza. Just a really catchy song, really enjoying it atm!
Waves (Robin Schulz Remix) // Mr. Probs. Again, summer song, just puts me in that summer mood.
Life in Colour // OneRepublic. I'm obsessed with them, and this is one of my favourites on the Natives album. They're all so good tho. Check it out.
Happy // Pharrell. So overplayed, but this month I have loved it. Even though I'm bored of it now :P
Fred Astaire // San Cisco. Love this, it comes on at work all the time :D so catchy, check it out!
Empire // Shakira. Such a woman crush of mine. I love this song, and she's gorgeous!
She Looks So Perfect // 5 Seconds of Summer. Saw them live opening for 1D, and this was the first song of theirs I heard. Also love Good Girls and Amnesia :D
Settle Down // The 1975. I love their sound, it's so great to just chill & unwind to :D
Hope your June was awesome, can't wait to see what July brings :)
So it's been almost a year since I started this blog, and lo and behold, I've not posted a single post since I wrote that introductory one.
I think, to be perfectly honest, it was a bit ambitious to start a blog in my last year of secondary school. I had many stressful cramming sessions, so much homework, and blogging definitely got pushed into the back of my mind. But it never really left, I have been itching to properly start it up again.
I've been reading many blog posts by people such as Niomi Smart, Louise (Sprinkle of Glitter), and Zoe Sugg, and they've definitely inspired me to sit down and do some serious writing.
Also, as I've done school now, I've got quite a lot of time on my hands with which to write. I find it very theraputic, and have a lot to share with the world, so I figured a blog would be a good place to start.
So, a bit more about me:
My name's Zoe (obviously).
I'm 17.
I live in England.
I'm famous for starting projects & never finishing them *but I am absolutely DETERMINED to keep this blog up!!!*
I have really long curly (untameable) blonde/brown hair, that I really struggle to deal with, so I'm always looking for new styles to try *hint hint, if you have any nice ones, PLEASE let me know so I can try them out!*
Some favourites of mine:
Book: Perks of being a wallflower // The Fault In Our Stars // To Kill a Mockingbird
Film: TFIOS // Brave // Perks of being a wallflower
Disney Princess: Merida
Song: Fix You // Little Things
Makeup item: Lipstick (particularly Revlon) // mascara (I love maybelline mascaras)
If you have any other questions/things you'd like to know about me, then please let me know!
Hi, I'm Zoe, I'm 19 and I live in the UK. I like Disney more than the average person, I have an eclectic music taste, and I find it hard to commit to a blogging 'niche', so expect to see lots of different posts ranging from beauty to lifestyle to random rambling!
