50 Facts About Me!

I wasn't really sure what to write for this week's blog post, as yesterday I moved back home from uni for Easter and haven't had much time to plan out a post for this week. I had a look through my archives and realised that you guys don't really know much about me, so I thought I would do the 50 facts about me tag. I love reading these as I find it really interesting to find out more about the bloggers I follow.

My middle name is Elizabeth after my Grandmother (so I have the same name as Zoella!)
I have lived in 3 countries
I moved to Belgium about a month after I was born (in England)
I've also lived in Canada
I'd love to go back to Canada one day
My star sign is Capricorn
Which means that I am practical and I love to plan everything out (apart from this weeks post!)
I care too much about everything
I'm absolutely obsessed with all things Disney
My favourite princess is Rapunzel
The last song I listened to was Thinking Out Loud
My favourite food is pasta
I have a miniature schnauzer called Monty
I study biology at university
My celebrity crush has been Alex Pettyfer for as long as I can remember.
I also love Dermot O'Leary
My favourite book is To Kill a Mockingbird
My favourite musical is Billy Elliot (it made me cry lots and lots!)
I'm scared of talking on the phone.
I used to have two goldfish called Bubbles and Sunshine
Which both died while my best friend was looking after them when I was on holiday
I also used to have two cats called Tufty and Tigger
I love the Sims & animal crossing
I'm scared of insects and when I was little I used to check for spiders whenever I entered the room.
I live in leggings
I can't drive
I have never swam in the sea
I play the clarinet
I used to do ballet (and got to grade 5)
I love baking
I'm an incredibly anxious person

I get very excited about things
I love getting letters & handwritten notes
I'm really good at long distance swimming
I have never been able to do a cartwheel or handstand or the splits
I have never had my ears pierced

My favourite beauty products to buy are lipsticks
However my most used beauty products are nail polishes
If I wasn't doing biology I'd like to work in photography
I used to work in retail
I have met my role model (Carrie Hope Fletcher)
I have been addicted to tumblr for nearly 5 years
I love cooking for people
I want a hedgehog and a rabbit when I have my own house
I find growing up terrifying
I hate horror films
I'm obsessed with youtube and used to make my own videos (maybe one day I'll try again?)

The Me Time Tag

Thanks so much to Molly Rose for tagging me in another tag, I loved reading about her 'me time' so definitely check it out here.

What do you watch/read during 'Me Time'? I usually watch youtube videos when I'm having some me time, although I've been loving trashy TV like Take Me Out at the moment too. The last book I read was Attachments by Rainbow Rowell, however I don't have loads of time to read at uni! Mostly I listen to music when I'm having some time to myself, which is exactly what I'm doing now!
What do you wear during 'Me Time'? I usually wear leggings and a top or loose knitted jumper, although sometimes I just wear pyjamas.
What are your 'Me Time' beauty products? I usually have mascara and eyeliner, although if I'm properly relaxing I'll give my face a complete break and not wear any makeup. I will treat my skin with my skincare routine, which can be found here
Favourite current nail polish? My current nail polish is Sally Hansen nail polish in Rosie Posie, which is a lovely dusky pink colour. It's been on my nails for three weeks now, with no chips! I'm so in love, I bought this polish years ago and have gone through many feelings of loving and disliking the colour, but currently I love it. It's the only Sally Hansen nail polish I own but I definitely need some more shades! *hint hint Sally Hansen!!* haha just kidding.
What do you eat/drink in your 'Me Time'? Anything chocolaty! Or cereal. And I love a good cup of tea in my me time routine.
Current favourite candle? I'm not allowed to burn candles at uni so I don't have a current favourite!
Do you ever have outdoor 'Me Time'? Often if I've spent a lot of time inside it makes me go crazy & I feel really stifled and trapped, so I love nothing more than to go outside for a walk. I was really stressed out last week so I dragged my bf around campus to take some photos and to make the most of the gorgeous sunshine we've been having. It's so nice to just get out and clear my head, and to have a change of scenery.
Would you ever go see a movie alone? I'm not sure if I would, I always like to react about the movie to the people I've gone with, and I think I'd feel a bit lonely in the cinema alone (side note this is such a random question) :P
Favourite online shop? I don't tend to do lots of online shopping, however I'm notorious for putting lots of things into my basket and then never actually buying anything. I rarely order things online, especially clothes, as I like to try them on and make sure they actually fit. However I love looking at the new look website to get outfit inspiration!

Something I think everyone struggles with from time to time is maintaining their happiness. Some people struggle more than others, and I am definitely one of those people.
However, there are some things that I do that help to bring more happiness to my life.

I try to find happiness in the little things, such as seeing a cute dog or seeing a child smile at you, or making the perfect cup of tea. All those little things definitely add up and help to increase my mood.

Something I've seen people talk about is having a happy journal, where you write down all the things that make you happy, so that you can look back on them when you're sad. I love this idea, and I might try it out!

In 2013 I had a jar in which I put all the funny/good memories, all the little trinkets I wanted to keep. Whenever I look through it it brings back many happy memories from that year.

I try really hard not to listen to sad music when I don't feel that happy, as it just makes me feel worse. I find that the best music to make me happy is some good old 80s, or some Disney tunes!

Pamper yourself! Have a nice relaxing bath, make yourself some hot chocolate, do whatever you usually do to chill out and wind down. I find having a good old pamper sesh and painting my nails helps to cheer me up.

Try to be optimistic & positive! I'm so bad for being negative and pessimistic, but having a positive outlook really does make a difference! I try to wake up every morning and think "today is going to be a good day" and every day I say that, I find it comes true. If I believe I'll have a good day, then I'll have a decent day.

Treat yourself! Eat whatever will cheer you up, or buy yourself a little treat every once in a while. It'll cheer you up for sure :D

Surround yourself with positive people. Seriously. People who are moany & negative all the time will only make you feel bad yourself.

Something I've been doing recently is having a good old spring clean. It's really good once in a while to just grit your teeth and completely clean & organise everything. I've organised & cleaned everything in my kitchen cupboards, and I'm now in the process of cleaning my work space & room!
It feels so good sometimes to get everything organised, so that you're not tripping over things. I find it allows for so much more work to be done, and it just makes me have so much more of a positive outlook on life when I can see my bedroom floor!
